Hotel York Will Add Wing With 30 Rooms; Work To Start Soon
Contract to build an extension of approximately thirty rooms to
the present Hotel York will be let within a few days, C.L. Olson, Edmonton,
president of Grande Prairie Hotel Co. announced in an interview Tuesday.
An arrangement is being made to begin work a soon as material is available.
The Hotel York is Grande Prairies newest and most modern hotel,
having been opened less than a year ago. It was planned at that time to
add to the hotel in 1950 if business warranted it. But the demand for accommodation
has been so great Mr. Olson said, that the company decided to go ahead
immediately.
The 3-story wing will be build west of the present building of concrete
an stucco. Further details will be announced next week.
