Hotel York Plans Spring Start On New Sixteen-Room Addition
Work on a 16-room $85,000 addition to the Hotel York in Grande
Prairie will bet underway in the spring, it was learned this week.
The new two-story addition, which will be built as a north wing
on the present building, will boost the hotel's total number of rooms to 39.
One of the most modern hotels in the north, the York was built
five years ago at a cost of $185,000.
Plans for the addition call for a full basement. It is
likely at least two small dining and conference rooms will be included in the
basement plan.
In preparation for a start on construction first thing in the
spring, materials are now being ordered and stockpiled.
