A Bit About the Club

Our Club's first organizational meeting was held on October 6, 1981 and our bylaws were approved on March 12, 1982.  The inaugural meeting was held on April 1, 1982 with 30 charter members.  

In May 1987, 1997, and 2002 the Grande Prairie Club hosted the Region VII Meeting.  Our Club is looking forward to hosting the 2009 Region VII meeting.

Meetings

The membership meets the first Thursday of the month at the Grande Prairie Curling Club, upstairs in their banquet room.  The Board meets the third Monday of each month.

Newsletter & Bulletin

Members receive a newsletter informing them of the upcoming membership meeting each month and our Bulletin called "Resources" is sent out quarterly.  Resources informs our members of Club, Region, and Association news.

We're proud of our members and their contributions to the 2009 Awards of Merit submissions. Remember as soon as you lift that pen or put your fingers to the keyboard, you're a winner. 

Elections

Each year in November, the membership elects the following:  President, Vice-president, Secretary, Treasurer, and four Directors.  These positions, plus the Immediate Past President form the Board for the Grande Prairie Club.  Our four Directors head the following:  Bulletin, Programs/Field Trips, Membership, and Social.
