Ronel

August 10, 2001

Journal Entry/Day 6

It rained “cats and dogs” the whole night.  This is another miserable start and the going is slow.  I caught up to Brian; he had a flat tire and multiple other problems.  There is beautiful scenery here above the tree line.  The arctic is a very unforgiving place.

“Some people” have not trained for two days and therefore she is not in a great mood.  She says she is still feeling fit though.

The “professor broke his glasses and then later decided to repeat Ronel’s performance by falling, while still attached to his bike, into the mud.

We stopped at the “Hot Spot” café close to the Yukon River.  I did 90 km. today.  Ronel on the other hand had a great cold shower and appreciated it very much.
